Cozumel, Mexico, offers plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy with kids. Here are some suggestions:
- Snorkeling or Scuba Diving: Cozumel is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. Many operators offer snorkeling and scuba diving tours suitable for children, including shallow reef dives and snorkel trips to spots like Palancar Reef.
- Visit Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park: This park offers a variety of activities suitable for families, including snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, exploring botanical gardens, and relaxing on the beach. There's also a children's area with pools and water slides.
- Explore Punta Sur Eco Beach Park: This ecological reserve features beaches, lagoons, and a lighthouse with panoramic views. Families can enjoy activities such as beachcombing, birdwatching, and visiting the crocodile exhibits.
- Discover San Gervasio Archaeological Zone: Take a trip back in time by exploring the ancient Mayan ruins at San Gervasio. Kids can learn about Mayan culture while exploring the ruins and pathways.
- Take a Glass-Bottom Boat Tour: Enjoy the beauty of Cozumel's underwater world without getting wet by taking a glass-bottom boat tour. Kids can marvel at the colorful fish and coral reefs through the boat's glass bottom.
- Visit Discover Mexico Park: This cultural theme park offers a chance to learn about Mexican history and culture through exhibits, displays, and interactive activities. Kids can enjoy traditional Mexican crafts, performances, and miniature replicas of famous landmarks.
- Go Horseback Riding: Several operators on the island offer horseback riding tours suitable for families. Ride along scenic trails and beaches while taking in the natural beauty of Cozumel.
- Playa Mia Grand Beach Park: This beach club offers a variety of family-friendly activities, including water slides, a floating park, kayaking, paddleboarding, and beach volleyball.
- Snuba Diving: For families with older children who want to experience scuba diving without the certification requirements, snuba diving is a great option. It combines the simplicity of snorkeling with the depth of scuba diving, allowing participants to explore underwater with ease.
- Cooking Classes: Some resorts and local culinary schools offer cooking classes where families can learn to prepare traditional Mexican dishes together. It's a fun and educational activity that allows kids to experience local culture through food.
- Carlos and Charlie’s: We love to go here with our older kids. There are jet skis you can rent right on the beach. They have inflatables in the water that the kids can get a pass to use. The food is always delicious, and the drinks are always cold. They have beach side massages as well. I have always received the best massages at this location, and it is one of my favorite places to go.
- ATV- We have done the ATV’s in Cozumel and had a blast. They do need to be a little older to participate but can enjoy as a rider. They have two options one for wild and one for mild on the course.
